2027: Sowore Challenges Politicians Relying on Godfathers, Billionaires

0

The 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has criticised Nigerian politicians who rely on political godfathers, wealthy backers and established political parties to pursue their ambitions.

Sowore made the remarks in a social media post while defending the AAC, which he said was built through the courage, sacrifice and support of ordinary Nigerians.

He questioned why politicians who claim to have the capacity to win elections continue to move from one political party to another during election periods instead of building their own political movements.

The AAC presidential candidate also criticised politicians who, according to him, attempt to convince supporters to abandon political platforms they have helped build and join other parties.

Sowore challenged politicians who believe their ideas and political structures are popular to demonstrate their strength by organising and mobilising Nigerians without relying on wealthy patrons or established political structures.

“If their ideas are so compelling, let them organize. If their platforms are so popular, let them mobilize. If their politics is so powerful, let them build,” he said.

Defending the AAC, Sowore said the party was built through the commitment and sacrifices of its members and supporters rather than being established to serve the ambitions of wealthy political figures.

“We built ours with our sweat and blood. Let them build theirs,” he added.
