The newly appointed Imo State Chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Kyrian Amadi, has declared that the party is poised to become a major political force ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing the NDP as the party to beat in the coming electoral contest.
Amadi made the declaration shortly after his appointment by the party’s national leadership, saying the NDP has begun implementing strategic measures to strengthen its presence not only in Imo State but across the 36 states of the federation.
According to him, the party is committed to building a people-centered political movement anchored on democratic principles, equity, social justice and accountable leadership.
“The NDP is a party for the masses. We are committed to strict adherence to democratic values, equity, social justice and good, purposeful governance,” he said.
He maintained that the party is rapidly gaining acceptance among Nigerians who desire credible leadership, expressing confidence that the NDP will play a significant role in shaping the country’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
Amadi commended the national leadership of the party for laying the groundwork to establish functional structures across Imo State’s 27 local government areas and 305 wards, describing the level of public acceptance as “passionately volcanic.”
He urged eligible voters in the state who are yet to identify with the NDP to join the party, stressing that it remains committed to delivering good governance, infrastructural development, human capital development, inclusiveness and transparency.
The state chairman also disclosed that the party is still taking advantage of the window provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to substitute candidates for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate ahead of the elections.
