Wike’s Aide Olayinka Clashes With Arise TV’s Rufai Oseni During Live Broadcast

Lere Olayinka, spokesperson to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Friday engaged in a heated exchange with Arise Television anchor, Rufai Oseni, during a live programme.

Olayinka, who appeared on The Morning Show, declined to respond to questions from Oseni, insisting that he preferred to have the discussion with what he described as “reasonable human beings.”

The disagreement appeared to have stemmed from Olayinka’s objection to an alleged description of some individuals as “emudani,” a Yoruba expression he took exception to.

During the programme, Oseni had asked Olayinka to explain why former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, was included in President Bola Tinubu’s campaign council despite allegations of corruption against her.

Rather than respond to the question, Olayinka directed his criticism at Oseni.

“Well, I’m very sorry to say this, Oseni Rufai, I don’t want to answer any question from you. I want to concentrate.

“I want this conversation to be among reasonable human beings, people who will not come and describe other people as ‘emudani’,” Olayinka said.

The exchange brought the interview to a tense moment as both parties maintained their positions during the live broadcast.
