Upload case documents for September–December pending appeals, S/Court directs lawyers

0

The Supreme Court has directed all legal practitioners with cases scheduled for hearing between September and December 2026 to upload their court documents through the Nigerian Case Management System (NCMS), in line with Rule 10(1) of the Supreme Court Practice Direction, 2026.

In a press statement signed by the Chief Registrar, Kabir E. Akanbi, the apex court said counsel must first check whether their matters are listed for the affected period by visiting the court’s website, www.supremecourt.gov.ng, navigating to the “Litigation” tab, selecting the NCMS option, and downloading the list of appeals and motions fixed for hearing.

Once confirmed, the statement said lawyers are required to upload all relevant filed processes — including the record of appeal, briefs of argument, pending motions, and other court documents — no later than 30 days before their scheduled hearing date.

The Court described strict compliance as essential to the smooth running of the NCMS and to ensuring cases are determined efficiently and without delay.

The directive is the latest step in the Supreme Court’s push to digitize case filing and management, as it continues to phase out manual processes in favour of electronic systems.
