Nollywood veteran and former spokesman of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council, Kenneth Okonkwo, has officially announced his resignation from the party, citing internal conflicts and leadership challenges.

Okonkwo revealed that his departure will take effect on February 25, 2025, exactly two years after the 2023 presidential election.

In a statement, the actor-turned-politician emphasized his commitment to good governance, stating that the LP’s current structure no longer aligns with his vision for Nigeria.

“My entrance into politics is for good governance, and I will continue to work to ensure that Nigeria becomes a great country of incorruptible men. This aim can no longer be realized within the Labour Party as presently constituted,” Okonkwo said.

He further hinted at future political moves, affirming his intention to collaborate with like-minded Nigerians in shaping the country’s political landscape.

His resignation comes amid ongoing internal disputes within the Labour Party, raising further questions about the party’s stability ahead of future elections.
