Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reiterated his commitment, alongside other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to upholding the integrity and unity of the party.
Speaking at the PDP North-East Zonal Caucus meeting held on Thursday in Bauchi, Mohammed emphasized the collective determination of party leaders to ensure stability and avoid actions that could tarnish the party’s reputation.
The governor, who also serves as the chairman of PDP governors, highlighted that party leaders from the zone had engaged with the reconciliation committee set up by the National Working Committee (NWC). He noted that the North-East zone has been recognized as the least divided within the party, maintaining a strong sense of unity and focus.
“We bring different projects and programmes that will have direct bearing on the aspirations of our people,” Mohammed stated. “We are loyal to the zone and to our various chapters, including those that do not have a governor, and we will continue to do so.”
Chairman of the reconciliation committee, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, assured party members that PDP remains committed to addressing its internal challenges for effective repositioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Echoing similar sentiments, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, described the reconciliation committee’s efforts as timely, given the ongoing issues within the party. He stressed that PDP’s ability to reclaim leadership at the national level would depend on collective efforts and urged all aggrieved members to embrace dialogue and reconciliation.
The meeting underscored the party’s ongoing efforts to foster internal cohesion and strategize towards future electoral success.
