Police Ready to Support State Policing, Vow to Uphold Professionalism and Accountability

0

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has expressed its readiness to support the implementation of state police should the proposed reform receive approval.

The Force said professionalism, accountability and operational excellence would remain at the heart of the new policing framework, stressing the need for a system that strengthens security while maintaining high standards of conduct.

The NPF’s position comes amid ongoing discussions over the establishment of state police as part of efforts to address Nigeria’s growing security challenges and improve policing at the grassroots.

The Force assured that, if approved, it would work within the framework of the new system to ensure effective coordination, professionalism and accountability across policing structures.

The development is expected to further fuel discussions on how state police can complement the existing federal policing system while improving security responses in communities across the country.
