
Veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs has been laid to rest, with family members, friends, colleagues and dignitaries gathering for his funeral service in Lagos.
The service was held on Friday at This Present House Church in Lekki, Lagos, drawing prominent figures from the entertainment industry who came to honour the late thespian and celebrate his legacy.
Among those who paid tribute was entertainment entrepreneur and singer Darey Art Alade, who performed his hit song Pray for Me, featuring Olu Jacobs and his wife, veteran actress Joke Silva.
Jacobs’ son, Olugbenga Jacobs, also presented his father’s biography during the funeral proceedings, highlighting the life and career of one of Nigeria’s most respected actors.
The burial followed a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall on Lagos Island, where Nollywood stars, friends and well-wishers gathered to honour the late actor.
Olu Jacobs died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving behind a career spanning several decades in Nigerian theatre, film and television.
