Members of the Obidient Movement in Nigeria’s North Central zone have called for an end to threats and attacks targeting their leader, former presidential candidate Peter Obi.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the group expressed concern over recent reports of incidents involving Obi, including an episode in Edo State, and urged all political actors to avoid actions that could escalate tensions.

Signed by the Federal Capital Territory coordinator, Daniel Dumije, the statement emphasized that the movement advocates for peaceful and respectful political engagement.

“We call on individuals and groups to refrain from actions or statements that could threaten the safety of our principal or contribute to unnecessary tension in the country,” Dumije said.

He added that the movement remains committed to pursuing its political objectives through lawful and non-violent means. Members also encouraged dialogue, tolerance, and respect for democratic processes across Nigeria.

Dumije concluded by reaffirming supporters’ commitment to Obi’s political ideals and urging Nigerians to prioritize unity and constructive participation in national political discourse.
