Yemen has suspended all inbound and outbound flights at the Sanaa International Airport until further notice following significant damage caused by an Israeli airstrike.
The airport’s general director confirmed the suspension in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
The Israeli military targeted Yemen’s main airport in Sanaa on Tuesday — marking the second airstrike in two days aimed at Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
The development comes amid rising tensions between Israel and the Houthis, who have expressed solidarity with Hamas in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Authorities have not provided a timeline for the resumption of flights, as assessments of the damage and security concerns continue.
