President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has fired back at former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over comments made during his recent interview on Arise Television.
El-Rufai had accused Tinubu of personally blocking his ministerial appointment, dismissing the Senate’s security concerns as a mere excuse. “Since then, has anyone released that report telling us the security issue?” he questioned. The former governor also cast doubt on his support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, stating that the president has failed to meet the expectations placed on him.
In response, Bwala took to X (formerly Twitter) to dismiss El-Rufai’s remarks, calling them “jumbles of incoherent and disorganized statements” aimed at “distorting the truth.”
“Mallam El-Rufai’s interview on Arise News was full of word salad… His philosophy is: if it’s not about him, then everybody must be a victim of his ambition. Believe him at your own peril,” Bwala posted.
The clash highlights growing tensions within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 2027 elections approach.
