President Bola Tinubu made his first appearance at the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Executive Council meeting since his inauguration as President on Thursday when he described the election that brought him to power as the most credible in Nigerian history.

Tinubu expressed his conviction despite ongoing legal challenges in court opposing the procedure.

“Yes, we are facing legal challenges,” he remarked, “but I believe this is the most credible election in Nigeria. As a result, we must congratulate ourselves. Those who cannot accept the results of a free and fair election, as a democrat, do not deserve the joy of victory.”

Speaking about the party’s affairs, which has produced former Kano governor Abdullahi Ganduje as chairman, Tinubu stated that the party has a responsibility to foster unity, stability, and love among its members.

Being elected to serve, he says, is an opportunity to “fulfil your dreams and the dreams of our founding fathers.”

The President also stated that governance challenges must be addressed head-on.

“We are taking it head-on; we must oil the wheel, grease it, and we are. I have submitted ministerial lists to Senate for screening and approval. We are in the process of fully establishing the government of the people, for the people, and by the people.

“I can see a number of my friends here, and you have not been able to see me. It is what you all fought for to bring me here. We have governance issues, and you will not see me as often as you want to,” he stated.

In addition, he stated that Nigeria is facing issues, which he addressed well in his presentation.

He stated that his administration is prepared to reengineer the American economy, adding, “Our policies are for the people, not to punish the people.”

Tinubu also made a brief foray into foreign politics. “I sent messages to Europe and America yesterday,” he explained. “I ask our partners, How do you handle a barking dog, a mad dog, and keep a barking dog from eating from your enemy’s plate? We are starving, and the continent is dependent on Nigeria. We require assistance, but not at the expense of our joy, peace, or happiness.”

He warned the party’s leaders about the importance of maintaining a united front, emphasizing that the party was in their hands.

“Let us show the rest of the country that we are united for a purpose, and if we deviate from that path, posterity will not forgive us,” he stated.
