Supreme-Court-didn’t-affirm-presidency-Datti

Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has said the Supreme Court did not affirm the victory of President Bola Tinubu but only validated the illegality of the lower courts. Speaking during a live programme yesterday, he said he would never be shaken by a man who forged his certificate and forfeited drug money.

“The Supreme Court didn’t affirm Tinubu’s presidency, they only affirmed the illegality of the lower court. I have respect for Tinubu because of his age, he’s old enough to be an elder brother but that does not mean I will not call him a drug dealer.

“I will never be shaken by a man who forged his certificate, forfeited drug money and had iREV switched off when they saw us winning. They are cheats and bullies and everyone knows the Labour Party won the 2023 elections.

“When the Nigerian people rise to defend their constitution, anything can happen. We are in a worrying and frightening situation. I am not here to repeat what you have been hearing. I have never had a criminal record but when the Nigerian people decide, Nigeria is theirs for the taking and the elected government is fair game for them. The Nigerian people have the power, not Obi or Atiku or anyone.

“The Nigerian people have the power to take back their country. Turn away the barrel of your guns away from the Nigerian people and turn it to the enemy of Nigeria. The military decided and they took Nigeria for so long and handed it back. Whoever thinks that the Supreme Court will give democracy from any courtroom the way it appears now is mistaken. Nigerians have to go out,” he said.

On his brother’s appointment, Datti said: “ I am after the fraudulent government of Tinubu and I will not speak of my brother, Dr. Hakeem’s appointment with them. If he likes, he can appoint the entire Baba-Ahmed family, I don’t care. They tried to arrest me but I got the info 10 minutes before the time and escaped.”
