The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command.
The announcement was made on Monday by the PSC’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, following an interview conducted earlier in the day. Jimoh, who previously headed the Port Authority, Eastern Ports Command in Rivers State, was assessed by a panel led by PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), alongside retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje and retired DIG Taiwo Lakanu.
A seasoned officer from Kwara State, Jimoh brings years of experience in police operations, administration, and strategic communications. He has served as Force Public Relations Officer and held key roles such as Deputy Commissioner at the Airport Command, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of General Investigations.
His career includes professional training in counterterrorism, maritime rescue, and crisis management across various international institutions, including the United States, China, and South Korea. He is also a recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, in recognition of his contributions to public relations in Nigeria.
The PSC expressed confidence in Jimoh’s ability to strengthen security in Lagos, citing his exceptional track record and dedication to duty. He is expected to assume his new role immediately.
