Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered the establishment of three relief camps to accommodate residents displaced by the ongoing communal clashes in Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin Osun.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Osogbo, the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, confirmed that the directive follows the commencement of food and relief material distribution to affected individuals.

“Now that the distribution of food and relief materials has begun, I have directed the state emergency agency to proceed with setting up camps for displaced persons,” Governor Adeleke stated.

Each town will have a designated camp, likely within their town halls or other suitable locations. Security agencies have also been tasked with screening displaced individuals before their relocation to the camps.

The governor assured that the state emergency agency will continue to provide food and other necessities until normalcy is restored in the affected communities.
