Onanuga Defends President Tinubu’s Slip: “Political Leaders Are Human”

Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has addressed the recent slip of President Tinubu during the Democracy Day celebration in Abuja.

President Bola Tinubu led Nigerians from all walks of life at the Eagles Square in Abuja on Wednesday to commemorate the nation’s 25th Democracy Day anniversary. Accompanied by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the president arrived at the venue around 10:03 am and was received by dignitaries led by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Reacting to the incident, Onanuga emphasized that the president’s slip should not overshadow the significance of Democracy Day. He stated, “President Tinubu is not a superman. He is human like all of us. President Biden has had several slips in the last three years. Even the younger Barack Obama slipped while he was president. Political leaders are human. Slipping should not detract from the importance of Democracy Day celebration.”
