Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Speaker Princess Mojisola Meranda, affirming their support for her continued leadership of the legislative body.
The motion was moved during a plenary session by Hon. Oladipo Ajomale, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2. In his remarks, Ajomale emphasized that Speaker Meranda was duly elected by the lawmakers and has demonstrated the qualities needed to steer the affairs of the House effectively.
“The Speaker has shown exceptional leadership and dedication to the progress of the House. We are confident that she is the right person to lead us at this critical time,” Ajomale stated.
The motion was seconded by Hon. Aro Moshood and received overwhelming support from the remaining 34 lawmakers present, who collectively endorsed the Speaker’s leadership.
In a show of solidarity, staff members of the Assembly also publicly expressed their support for Speaker Meranda.
Following the vote of confidence, the House adjourned its sitting until further notice.
