Frozen Bank Accounts: Lagos Panel suspends sitting

The sitting of the Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry probing the alleged shooting of #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate was on Saturday, November 7, 2020, suspended following the absence of a youth member of the panel, Oluwarinu Rachael Oduala.

Oduala and other youth member representatives boycotted the sitting after her bank account was frozen by the Central Bank of Nigeria along with 18 others for participating in the #EndSARS protest.

The order was pursuant to a motion ex parte filed by the CBN before a Federal High Court.

The chairman of the judicial panel, retired Justice Doris Okuwobi, said the panel would have to suspend Saturday sitting as it could not form a quorum in the absence of the youth member of the panel.

The panel would resume sitting on Saturday, November 14, 2020.
