No fewer than 45 vehicles have been confirmed burnt to ashes in the early hours of Saturday, November 9, 2020, at World Oil Filling Station after Kara Bridge on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway outward Lagos.

Two persons – the tanker driver and motorboy were also confirmed burnt beyond recognition.

Nelsdaily gathered that the vehicles burnt were two trucks owned by Dangote Industries Limited and used cars, popularly known as Tokunbo, which were in a car mart close to the scene of the accident.

The fatal crash occurred when a Daf tanker loaded with PMS (Premium Motor Spirit) exploded at World Oil Filling Station after Kara Bridge on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway outward Lagos.

The accident reportedly occurred at about 12:17 am. The bridge has witnessed several accidents in recent times.

A gridlock immediately began, with drivers said to have resorted to driving against traffic ‘one way’.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Fire Service, TRACE were still on ground to remove all the debris to ensure free-flow of traffic.
