In a festive gesture, the Federal Government has declared free train rides for Nigerians traveling during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja.

According to the minister, the free train service will run from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025. This initiative applies to all operational train routes nationwide, providing an opportunity for citizens to travel conveniently and cost-free during the holiday season.

Idris emphasized that the move aligns with the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on Nigerians during the festive period.
