Former federal lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani has commented on recent developments in the United States, stating that a period of “disruption” has commenced under President Donald Trump.
“The disruption has started,” Senator Sani wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after Trump issued an executive order withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO).
President Trump’s decision to exit the global health agency came just hours after his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States on Monday. The President cited the WHO’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and other international health crises as justification for the withdrawal.
Earlier on Monday, Senator Sani had described President Trump as a “disruptor” in a separate post on his X account, noting that Trump’s leadership would present a significant challenge to the global community.
The move has sparked widespread reactions, with critics and supporters debating its implications for global health and international relations.
