The Chinese government has reaffirmed its longstanding diplomatic relationship with Iran as both countries prepare for a high-level meeting in Beijing on Wednesday, aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation and addressing key global issues.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, is set to arrive in the Chinese capital at the invitation of Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister and member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun described China-Iran relations as cordial and resilient, noting that the diplomatic partnership has thrived for over five decades.

“Over the past 54 years, China and Iran have maintained mutual respect, trust, and support, leading to steady growth in bilateral ties,” Jiakun said. “The two countries have also worked together in promoting regional and global peace and stability.”

The spokesperson emphasized that the upcoming visit is a crucial step toward implementing shared goals previously agreed upon by the leaders of both nations.

According to Jiakun, discussions during Araghchi’s visit will include in-depth exchanges on bilateral relations as well as pressing international and regional issues of mutual concern.

“The visit is expected to further deepen political mutual trust, reinforce support for multilateralism, and expand cooperation across various sectors,” he added.

The diplomatic engagement signals continued commitment from both nations to strengthen strategic ties amid evolving global dynamics.
