Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has voiced his dissatisfaction over comparisons between his distinctive facial tattoos and those of fellow artist Asake.
Asake recently sparked reactions online after unveiling a series of facial tattoos featuring dollar signs and the word “Believe,” among others, in an Instagram post on Sunday. The reveal ignited a wave of mixed opinions, with many drawing parallels between his new look and Portable’s signature tattoos.
Portable, however, took offense to the comparisons, emphatically rejecting any similarities. In a video shared on his social media page, the “Zazoo Zehh” crooner described his style as being more influenced by American rapper Lil Wayne than by Asake.
“Don’t compare me to Asake. I don’t look like Asake. I look like Lil Wayne. Stop comparing me to an overrated artiste,” Portable said in the video, visibly irritated by the comparisons.
The debate over the two artists’ aesthetics has continued to divide fans online, further fueling conversations about their individuality and artistic expressions.
