Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, also known as Damini Ogulu, is from Nigeria. He reportedly declined a $5 million offer to play in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
He revealed that he declined the offer since smoking marijuana in Dubai would be prohibited. Smoking is forbidden by Emirati legislation in Dubai’s parks, beaches, and other public recreation places.
Burna Boy said as much while performing freestyle with his group Outsiders. “Just now I turned down Dubai money, 5 million dollars na small thing cos me I no dey like to dey go where dem no go gree allow me smoke Igbo,” he said.
