A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has expressed confidence that the party will replicate its recent governorship election victory in Ekiti State during the August 15, 2026 governorship poll in Osun.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye described the re-election of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji as a clear endorsement of the governor’s performance and the confidence the people of the state have in his administration.

According to him, the outcome of the election reflects the electorate’s support for progressive governance, development-driven policies, and inclusive leadership.

“The success of the APC in Ekiti has further reinforced the party’s popularity and provided momentum ahead of the Osun governorship election,” he said.

“The Ekiti result has shown that when a party is united, focused, and committed to grassroots engagement, victory becomes inevitable. It is a lesson for us in Osun that teamwork, dedication, and collective responsibility remain essential for electoral success.”

Oyintiloye commended the APC National Working Committee, led by National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, for providing strategic leadership that has strengthened the party nationwide.

He also praised the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, for his continued engagement with party members and stakeholders since the 2022 governorship election, noting that his efforts have helped sustain and strengthen the APC in the state.

The APC stalwart stated that the party’s mobilisation efforts in Osun remain robust, with a focus on reconnecting with voters and consolidating support across wards and local government areas.

He urged party members and supporters to remain united and committed to securing victory at the forthcoming election, stressing that every member has a role to play in returning the party to power.

Expressing confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, Oyintiloye described him as competent, experienced, and people-oriented.

“The people of Ekiti have reaffirmed their belief in progressive governance. By the grace of God, the people of Osun will do the same on August 15, 2026, by electing Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as the next governor of the state,” he said.

Oyintiloye maintained that increasing unity within the party, its strong grassroots structure, and growing acceptance of its candidate indicate that the APC is well-positioned to reclaim power in Osun after four years in opposition.

“We are ready. We have waited long enough, and by August 15, the victory recorded in Ekiti will be replicated in Osun, and the state will return to progressive leadership,” he added.
