Popular social media influencer and relationship therapist, Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has been arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, over an alleged N36 million fraud.

The influencer was docked on Friday by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence and alleged theft.

According to the prosecution, Blessing CEO allegedly obtained N36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye between July 14 and July 17, 2024, under the guise of facilitating the purchase of a six-bedroom duplex located in Lekki, Lagos.

The anti-graft agency alleged that the claims made to the complainant were false and contravened provisions of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.

She was also accused of allegedly converting the funds to personal use, an offence said to violate provisions of the Criminal Code Act.

When the charges were read before the court, the defendant pleaded not guilty.

Following her plea, prosecuting counsel urged the court to remand her in a correctional facility pending trial, while defence counsel informed the court that the charges had only recently been served and that a bail application was being prepared.

Presiding judge, Justice D. I. Dipeolu, subsequently ordered that the defendant be remanded in EFCC custody pending the hearing of her bail application.

The matter was adjourned till June 5, 2026, for commencement of trial.
