Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has emphasized that under his direction, the bank will prioritize price stability. In a meeting with the Impact Investing Community, which was presided over by Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 14th Emir of Kano and Khalifa of the Tijaniyyah Sufi order, Cardoso restated this position.

Mr. Cardoso reaffirmed the CBN’s dedication to reducing inflation and making sure that its policies have a beneficial effect on people’s lives. “At the end of our tenure, we want to look back and see that people’s lives have been positively impacted by our policies,” he stated.

Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation to the Impact Investing Community and acknowledged their capacity to revolutionize Nigeria’s economy by leveraging investment prospects around the nation. Mr Cardoso pledged cooperation with the neighbourhood to promote investments that support economic expansion.

Khalifa Sanusi said in his remarks that the Bank’s operations had a significant impact on Nigerians’ lives and that many people “do not know the impact of a Central Bank’s works until a Central Bank fails.”

He emphasized that the rate of inflation must be addressed because it has an impact on people’s wealth. He asked the CBN to try to lower inflation. In addition, he underlined the value of long-term planning and the function of fiscal authorities in sectors like education and agriculture.

Dr. Bala Bello, the Deputy Governor in charge of Corporate Services, emphasized the importance of investment and the global shift towards social investment. He expressed gratitude for the community’s support and stressed the significance of collaboration and effective communication in addressing current challenges in the country.
