Atiku’s ADC Campaign Convoy Attacked by Suspected Thugs in Kebbi

The presidential campaign convoy of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has reportedly come under attack by suspected political thugs in Kebbi State.

The incident occurred on Thursday as the campaign convoy moved through the state for political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the campaign team, the attackers blocked the convoy, pelted vehicles with stones and specifically targeted members of the media crew covering the campaign activities.

The team disclosed that several pieces of equipment belonging to its camera and video crew were destroyed during the attack.

Among the damaged items were cameras, video equipment, tripods and other essential working tools, leaving the media crew unable to continue live coverage of the campaign.

Describing the incident, the campaign team alleged that the attackers were sponsored thugs whose objective was to intimidate supporters and prevent the media from documenting the campaign activities.

“They did not come to steal. They came to destroy. They targeted our cameras and video crew because they did not want Nigerians to see what is happening here in Kebbi,” a member of the campaign team said.

The team further condemned the incident, alleging that the attack was deliberately orchestrated to disrupt the campaign and silence media coverage.

As of the time of filing this report, there had been no official statement from the Kebbi State Government or security agencies regarding the reported attack.
