APC Primary: Desmond Elliot Cries Foul, Shares Video of Supporters Denied Accreditation

0

The lawmaker representing Surulere I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, has released video evidence allegedly showing his supporters being denied accreditation during Wednesday’s state assembly primary election of the All Progressives Congress.

The actor-turned-politician had earlier announced his withdrawal from the race, citing alleged intimidation of his supporters across various polling units.

In a video shared on his official Facebook page, Desmond Elliot claimed that several of his loyalists were prevented from participating in the accreditation process, making it impossible for them to vote.

“There were clear cases of intimidation across different polling units, and my supporters were denied access to accreditation — let alone voting,” he stated.

He further condemned the conduct of the exercise, insisting that the process fell short of democratic standards.

“What played out during the APC primary election is not democracy,” he added.

In the viral video, supporters believed to be backing the lawmaker were heard chanting repeatedly: “All we want is Desmond, give us Desmond.”

The development has continued to generate reactions among party members and political observers, amid growing concerns over the credibility of the primary election process.
