The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of the deadlines for the sale and submission of expression of interest and nomination forms for its 2027 general election primaries, citing a public holiday and a significant increase in participation from aspirants nationwide.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held on Thursday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Durosinmi Meseko, confirmed that the adjustment was necessary to ensure inclusivity and accommodate the high volume of interested aspirants.
According to the revised timetable, the sale of nomination forms will now close at midnight on Monday, May 4, 2026. Submission of completed forms, along with all required documentation, will end at midnight on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Under the initial schedule, form sales were to conclude on Saturday, May 2, 2026, while submission was slated to close on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Meseko explained that the extension was influenced by the disruption caused by the public holiday observed on Friday, as well as the overwhelming response from party members seeking to participate in the primaries.
He emphasized that the move underscores the party’s commitment to providing a fair and accessible process for all aspirants across the country.
