KANO — National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has held a closed-door meeting with the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, and Senator Rufai Hanga in Kano State.
Yilwatda disclosed the meeting in a statement issued on Sunday, describing the discussions as frank, constructive, and focused on promoting unity and advancing the development of Kano State.
According to him, the meeting underscored the importance of collaboration among political leaders in addressing issues affecting the state and the nation.
“I had the pleasure of meeting with the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, alongside Senator Rufai Hanga, one of the foremost leaders of the NDC in Kano State.
“Our engagement was marked by frank, constructive, and cordial discussions centred on the unity and continued progress of Kano State,” Yilwatda said.
The APC chairman stressed that leaders have a shared responsibility to encourage dialogue, build consensus where possible, and strengthen Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
He added that the country’s future would be brighter if political leaders placed the interests of citizens above partisan considerations and worked together in pursuit of the common good.
