The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced a major reassignment of its four deputy governors, a move aimed at strengthening institutional effectiveness and aligning leadership expertise with evolving priorities.
According to a statement issued by the apex bank on Monday, Mr Philip Ikeazor has been reassigned to oversee the Economic Policy Directorate, taking over the portfolio previously managed by Dr Muhammad Abdullahi.
In the new arrangement, Dr Abdullahi moves from the Economic Policy Directorate to head the Corporate Services Directorate.
Similarly, Ms Emem Nnana Usoro, who previously supervised Corporate Services, has been redeployed to oversee the Operations Directorate.
Mr Lamido Yuguda has also been reassigned from the Operations Directorate to lead the Financial System Stability Directorate.
While the CBN did not provide specific reasons for the redeployment, the bank stated that the changes were designed to leverage the experience of its senior officials across different areas of responsibility and support the institution’s evolving priorities.
The latest reshuffle comes as the apex bank continues efforts to strengthen its operations and enhance the effectiveness of its policy and regulatory functions.
