Ned Nwoko Rejects APC Primary Result, Alleges Manipulation in Delta North

Senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary in the district, alleging that the process was manipulated in favour of former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

Recall that Ifeanyi Okowa was declared winner of the APC primary election for the Delta North Senatorial District.

Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Nwoko insisted that he was the rightful winner of the exercise, claiming to possess evidence from all 98 wards where the primaries were conducted.

According to him, the process initially appeared transparent until party officials allegedly halted the announcement of results at the ward level.

“The APC primaries for Delta North were conducted across 98 wards. I have video evidence from each ward showing that I won the election, and I intend to present it to the party,” he said.

He further alleged that party members were informed midway through the exercise that results would no longer be announced at the ward level, with assurances that the final outcome would instead be declared at the national level.

Nwoko, however, expressed disappointment over what he described as a sudden and questionable declaration of results.

“Instead, we were abruptly presented with a result from a single ward closely linked to the former governor, and that was used as the basis for announcing the winner,” he alleged.

The senator also accused the Delta State Government of collaborating with Okowa to influence the outcome of the primary election.

“The governor of Delta State is colluding with Senator Okowa,” Nwoko claimed.

The APC is yet to officially respond to the allegations.
