The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reduced the cost of its presidential nomination form to ₦90 million, down from the earlier ₦100 million, as it released a revised timetable for its 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general polls.
In a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the decision followed extensive consultations with party leaders, aspirants, and key stakeholders nationwide.
Under the updated fee structure, governorship nomination forms are pegged at ₦30 million, Senate at ₦10 million, House of Representatives at ₦5 million, and State Assembly at ₦2 million.
The party also retained its concession policy aimed at promoting inclusiveness. Youths aged 18 to 35 will receive a 50 percent discount, while women and persons with disabilities are entitled to a 25 percent reduction.
According to the newly released schedule, the sale of nomination forms will run from May 1 to May 4, with submission of completed forms slated for May 6 to May 13. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14 and 15, while results will be announced on May 17.
Appeals are expected to take place between May 18 and 19, with the final list of cleared aspirants to be published on May 20.
The party has fixed its State Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate primaries for May 21, while governorship primaries will hold on May 22. The presidential primary is scheduled for May 23.
Further activities include a National Executive Committee meeting on May 25 and a Special National Convention on May 26, 2026.
Abdullahi noted that the adjustments were designed to strengthen internal democracy, enhance inclusiveness, and expand access for aspirants.
He urged all party members and stakeholders to strictly adhere to the revised guidelines and timetable as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
