Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Wednesday oversaw the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congresses across the state, assuring full cooperation with newly elected party officials.
Governor Idris monitored the exercise alongside prominent party figures, including Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero; APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Muhammad Argungu; and State APC Chairman, Abubakar Kana-Zuru.
The governor visited key venues, including Kauran Gwandu Primary School and Justice Ibrahim Umar Primary School in Birnin Kebbi, where the ward congresses took place. Party sources confirmed that all 225 wards in the state successfully conducted congresses, producing new ward executives through a consensus-based process.
Speaking at one of the venues, Idris emphasized that his administration would work closely with the new ward leaders to advance party and government initiatives at the grassroots level.
APC State Chairman, Kana-Zuru, highlighted that the consensus process followed extensive consultations with stakeholders and fully complied with party guidelines. Similarly, Abdulmalik Mahmood, Chairman of the Ward Congress Committee, confirmed that the exercise adhered strictly to the party’s constitution.
Notably, the congresses coincided with the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, demonstrating the party’s commitment to maintaining its political calendar alongside religious observances.
