Kaduna lawmaker, Hon. Usman Garba Zingo, has regained his freedom following reports that he was abducted by armed bandits while travelling from Zamfara to Kaduna.

News of his release on Sunday evening sparked widespread relief among his family, political associates, and members of his constituency. Residents were seen gathering to welcome him back, offering prayers and expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for his safe return.

Initial reports indicated that the lawmaker had been kidnapped along the Zamfara–Kaduna route. However, the Kaduna State House of Assembly has denied that any abduction occurred, creating uncertainty around the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and subsequent return.

Adding to the development, a North-West security analyst known as Bakatsine shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) showing well-wishers celebrating the lawmaker’s return.

As of press time, details regarding how Hon. Zingo secured his freedom remain unclear. Neither security agencies nor his family have provided an official account of the events, including whether any demands were made or conditions met prior to his release.

Authorities are yet to issue a formal statement clarifying the situation.
