Jos, Plateau State — The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has announced that the 2023 governorship candidates of the Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Plateau State have all defected to the ruling party.
Yilwatda made the disclosure on Monday in Jos during the official reception of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, into the APC.
According to him, the defection of the opposition candidates has led to the total collapse of their party structures into the APC, significantly strengthening the ruling party in the state.
“The gubernatorial candidates of the Labour Party, PDP, PRP, and even NNPP are now all in APC,” Yilwatda said. “So, all the political structures that contested the 2023 governorship election in Plateau State have collapsed into one party — stronger, more united, and more prepared.”
The APC chairman expressed confidence that the party is now well-positioned to dominate Plateau State politics and secure victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
“With this unity, we are stronger and better prepared. We will ensure victory for President Bola Tinubu in 2027,” he stated.
Yilwatda further pledged that the APC-led government in Plateau State would promote justice, equity, and inclusiveness, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
“There will be no religious or tribal differences. Justice, equity, and fairness will guide governance in Plateau State,” he assured.
