Court Orders final forfeiture of Aisha Achimugu’s N4.6bn Jewellery, N4.3bn Cars, $50,000, N30m

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) sitting in Apo, Abuja, has ordered the final forfeiture of assets linked to businesswoman, Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.

The forfeited assets include, jewellery valued at N4.645 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth N4.293 billion, $50,000 in cash and an additional N30 million.

The trial judge, Justice Jude Onwugbuzie issued the order on Thursday, while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seeking the final forfeiture of the properties.

The court held in its ruling that, the assets should be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government following the EFCC’s application.

According to the court, the forfeited properties comprise jewellery valued at N4,645,170,294.09, 11 exotic vehicles worth N4,293,000,000, $50,000 in cash and N30 million.

The order marks the final stage of the forfeiture proceedings initiated by the anti-graft agency against the assets linked to the businesswoman.
