The lawmaker representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a decisive victory in the 2027 general election.
Abejide, who chairs the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise Duties, made this assertion on Saturday during an interactive session with journalists.
According to the lawmaker, Nigerians are increasingly satisfied with President Tinubu’s leadership, particularly in light of what he described as the positive impact of the administration’s economic reforms.
He claimed that poverty levels across the country have dropped significantly, attributing the improvement to policy decisions taken by the current government.
“Poverty has reduced by more than 50 percent. Many Nigerians can clearly see that this government is working and that the reforms are beginning to yield tangible results,” Abejide said.
He further noted that salary arrears for civil servants, a long-standing challenge in many states, have largely been addressed.
“I don’t think there is any state in Nigeria today where civil servants are owed salaries,” he added.
Abejide expressed optimism that with further economic improvements expected in the coming year, the 2027 presidential election would pose little challenge for President Tinubu, predicting an easy re-election for the incumbent.
