Reza Pahlavi, the US-based son of Iran’s ousted monarch, has urged Iranians to shift from street demonstrations to more strategic actions aimed at seizing and holding city centres across the country.
In a video message shared on social media on Saturday, Pahlavi said the protest movement must evolve beyond sporadic rallies. “Our goal is no longer just to take to the streets,” he declared. “The goal is to prepare to seize and hold city centres.”
He called on Iranians to intensify protests over the weekend, specifically on Saturday and Sunday, as nationwide unrest continues to challenge Iran’s ruling establishment.
Pahlavi also suggested that a major political turning point could be approaching, revealing that he was making preparations to return to Iran. According to him, that moment is “very near,” though he did not provide a specific timeline.
His remarks come amid sustained protests in Iran driven by public anger over governance, economic hardship, and political repression, with opposition figures abroad increasingly vocal in their calls for coordinated resistance.
