Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), further consolidating the ruling party’s growing influence in the state.
Odu completed her APC registration at Ward 8, Unit 11, Akabuka town, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA).
Her defection comes days after Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, also aligned with the APC, marking a major political realignment in the oil-rich state.
The deputy governor registered during a tour of ONELGA’s six zones, an event organized to sensitize residents and party members on the ongoing APC electronic registration exercise.
Addressing party supporters and community members, Odu urged eligible residents to embrace the registration process and enlist in large numbers, stressing the importance of building a strong grassroots base.
She also called on party faithful to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Fubara, noting that sustained support at the grassroots level would be crucial ahead of future electoral contests.
Odu’s move is widely seen as a significant boost to the APC’s political structure in Rivers State, particularly in ONELGA and its surrounding communities.
