NNPCL Slashes Petrol Price Again as Competition Forces Down Cost

0

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Thursday announced another reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), marking the second downward review in less than a week.

Checks by DAILY POST at NNPCL-owned stations across Abuja showed that the price of petrol has dropped to N920 per litre, down from the previous N930. This represents a N10 reduction.

The new price was already in effect at outlets in Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, and Wuse Zone 4, where motorists confirmed the adjustment early Thursday.

This latest cut comes just days after NNPCL reduced the price of petrol by N15 per litre on November 28, 2025.

Speaking on the development, the spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chinedu Ukadike, noted that the ongoing price drop is being driven by heightened competition among major players in the country’s downstream oil sector.

According to him, Nigerians should expect more market-driven adjustments as operators continue to respond to competitive pressures.
