Bauchi Declares Friday Work-Free Day to Honour Late Islamic Scholar Dahiru

The Bauchi State Government has declared Friday, November 28, a work-free day in honour of the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi, who passed away on Thursday.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed.

According to the statement, the decision is to allow public and private sector workers, students, and residents across the state to participate fully in the funeral rites and pay their final respects to the revered cleric.

The funeral prayer is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
