Tension has gripped Anwule community in Oglewu, Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State, following a deadly attack by suspected herdsmen that left several villagers feared dead and many others missing.
The assailants were said to have invaded the area on Thursday afternoon, targeting farmers who were working on their farmlands. Witnesses told DAILY POST that the attackers, armed with machetes and other dangerous weapons, struck without warning, killing multiple residents and injuring others.
The incident has thrown the agrarian community into chaos, with hundreds of residents fleeing their homes and seeking refuge in neighboring villages for safety.
Local sources described the assault as one of the most brutal in recent times, coming amid growing concern over renewed violence in parts of Benue State.
