Lagos APC Unanimously Backs President Tinubu for Second Term

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office. The endorsement came during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Tuesday in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu initiated the motion to back Tinubu, which was promptly seconded by Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.

Speaking at the meeting, Sanwo-Olu highlighted Tinubu’s legacy, noting his tenure as Lagos State’s 12th governor, and stressed the inclusivity of the decision:

“We have listened to all our stakeholders here today. By unanimous decision, all representatives agree that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should present himself for a second term.”

Traditional ruler of Ikorodu, Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, moved the motion, declaring:

“We endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to go for the second time. So I move.”

Obasa, in seconding the motion, affirmed the collective decision of Lagos APC stakeholders and the people of the state.

Sanwo-Olu concluded by expressing confidence that the endorsement would resonate beyond Lagos:

“It has been properly moved and seconded. I believe this message will get to Aso Rock, Villa, and to all corners of this great country.”

The unanimous backing reflects Lagos APC’s solid support for Tinubu’s bid to continue as Nigeria’s president.
