APC Governors Urge ASUU to Return to Dialogue

Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to embrace dialogue as the best path toward resolving its ongoing grievances with the Federal Government.

The appeal was made at the close of a two-day meeting of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), held in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, from October 16 to 17, 2025.

Reading the communiqué after the meeting, the PGF chairman and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, emphasized that negotiation remains the most effective tool for resolving disputes in the education sector.

Uzodimma urged ASUU to return to the dialogue table in the overall interest of Nigeria’s education system and the future of its youth.

The governors also reviewed ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination among federal, state, and local governments, stressing that such collaboration is crucial for achieving inclusive national development.
