Why I Fell in Love with Tinubu — Gov Peter Mbah Explains Defection to APC

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has revealed that his admiration for President Bola Tinubu began on the day the President announced the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of Nigeria’s foreign exchange market during his inauguration on May 29, 2023.

Mbah made this known on Tuesday shortly after formally announcing his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the governor, Tinubu’s bold economic reforms and decisive leadership style immediately struck a chord with him.

“I fell in love with this President from the day he made the announcement to remove fuel subsidy and unified the foreign exchange market,” Mbah said.

“Given my background in the oil and gas sector, I have always maintained that subsidy removal was long overdue. I’ve even written articles in the past emphasizing why it was necessary.”

Mbah further disclosed that he has enjoyed a cordial relationship with President Tinubu and is eager to contribute to his administration’s reform-driven agenda.
