Former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has downplayed the chances of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi in the 2027 general election.
Speculation has been rife that both men could reunite on a joint ticket under the African Democratic Congress (ADC). But speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Oshiomhole said history has already proven their chances slim.
“Did Atiku and Obi not run together before and contested against APC? They were loudly defeated. They later ran separately and were still defeated. If they come back together, very good — they will still be defeated,” he said.
Oshiomhole stressed that both men have a record of electoral failure against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and that uniting again would not alter the outcome.
