Datti Baba-Ahmed Slams El-Rufai’s Bandits Claim, Questions NSA Ribadu’s Credibility

ABUJA — The 2023 Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has called for former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to be questioned over his explosive allegation that the Federal Government was paying allowances to bandits.

Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, on Tuesday, Baba-Ahmed dismissed the rebuttal from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, insisting the claim was too serious to be waved aside.

“If the so-called office of the National Security Adviser would take this statement with levity, then Nuhu Ribadu was never a policeman; he is not a qualified lawyer; he should not be in that office,” he charged.

According to him, El-Rufai should be made to provide formal statements to security agencies and the courts over his claims.

NELSDAILY recalls that El-Rufai had alleged that both the Federal Government and Kaduna State were paying monthly allowances to bandits and even supplying them food under the guise of non-kinetic measures — a policy he described as a “kiss-the-bandits” strategy.
