ADC Blasts Political Class: “Nigerians No Longer Trust the Elite”

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that Nigerians have lost faith in the nation’s political elite, accusing leaders across party lines of abandoning the people’s welfare for selfish pursuits.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the remarks on Tuesday during an interview on The Morning Brief, a Channels Television programme.

According to Abdullahi, the political class, regardless of party affiliation, has failed to show genuine concern for the struggles of ordinary Nigerians.

“The political elite, regardless of party affiliation, has lost the trust of the people. Why are we so preoccupied and behaving in such a way that Nigerians now look at us and think we don’t care about what they are going through?” he asked.

He noted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has “abandoned the primary purpose of being elected,” adding that the party has shifted focus away from governance to raw politicking.

“The ruling party itself has abandoned the primary purpose of being elected. They’ve abandoned governance, and they are in full political throttle. Maybe that’s what is causing the PDP to do what they are doing, or it’s part of the game they are all playing together,” Abdullahi said.

The ADC spokesman insisted that the only thing that matters to Nigerians now is leadership that directly addresses their daily realities, not endless political maneuvering by the elite.
